1. Introduction

PocketSavyr is a local-first savings-challenge and expense-tracking app operated by Adaptiveware (pty) ltd ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how PocketSavyr handles information when you use the mobile app and related support services.

2. At a Glance

PocketSavyr is designed with your privacy as a priority. Here's what you need to know:

Key Privacy Points:

  • PocketSavyr does not require an account
  • Your savings challenges, amounts, schedules, transaction history, settings, activity history, and on-device reports are stored on your device by default
  • We do not sell personal information, show third-party advertising, or use your information for cross-app or cross-site tracking
  • We do not operate a server that receives your financial-planning data
  • Cloud backup and sharing occur only when you choose to use those features

3. Information You Provide and How It Is Used

You may enter challenge names, saving targets, planned or completed transfer amounts and dates, notes or categories, and preferences such as reminders and currency settings.

The app uses this information solely to provide its features, including progress tracking, reminders, forecasts, reports, backup, restore, and device migration.

4. Where Your Information Is Stored

What's Stored: Your challenge and transaction data, audit/activity history, settings, generated reports, and locally scheduled reminder details.
Storage: Locally on your device only
Sharing: Completely Private. Never sent to our servers

Optional Cloud Backup

Purpose: If you choose to connect a cloud-backup location, PocketSavyr creates a backup file and writes it to your selected cloud-storage account (iCloud Drive or Google Drive).
Storage: Your personal cloud storage account - we do not receive, host, or have access to those backup files
Sharing: Not shared with us - your cloud provider's terms apply

Exports and Sharing

Purpose: You may export a backup or generate a PDF/CSV report and share it using your device's share sheet.
Storage: Sent only to the app, person, or service you choose
Sharing: User-controlled - recipient's privacy practices apply once shared

5. Notifications

With your permission, PocketSavyr uses local notifications to remind you about planned transfers or reports. These notifications are scheduled and delivered by your device.

You can turn them off in PocketSavyr or in your device settings.

Privacy Note: PocketSavyr does not use push-notification services to send your data to us.

6. Purchases and Subscriptions

If PocketSavyr offers a paid subscription or purchase, the transaction is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, as applicable.

We do not receive or store your payment-card or bank-account details. We use purchase and entitlement information supplied by the relevant store only to provide and restore the features you purchased.

ℹ️ Note: Apple and Google process payment information under their respective privacy policies.

7. Information We DO NOT Collect

PocketSavyr does not collect or share your:

  • Name, email address, telephone number, postal address, contacts, photos, location, or advertising identifier
  • Bank-account credentials, payment-card details, or financial account connections
  • Financial-planning data for our own servers, analytics, advertising, profiling, or marketing
  • Browsing history, search history, or data from other apps or websites
No Third-Party Tracking: We do not use third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the app.

8. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

Information leaves your device only when you deliberately use a cloud-backup, export, or sharing feature, or when a store processes a purchase as described above.

We may disclose limited information if required by applicable law or a valid legal process, or when necessary to protect the security, rights, or property of users, the public, or Adaptiveware.

⚠️ Important: Because we do not maintain a central copy of your PocketSavyr data, we generally cannot provide it in response to legal requests.

9. Your Choices and Deletion

You control your data in the app. You can:

  • Delete individual challenges
  • Delete all local PocketSavyr data using the app's Clear data control
  • Uninstall the app
  • Export your data before deleting it
⚠️ Note: Deleting local data or uninstalling the app does not automatically delete copies kept by a cloud provider, a recipient, or a device-level backup service. To remove a cloud backup, delete the backup file from the cloud location you selected.

10. Data Security

We design PocketSavyr so that your information remains on your device unless you choose otherwise. We use platform-provided storage, permissions, and file-sharing mechanisms.

Security Note: No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so please protect your device, device passcode, cloud account, and exported files.

11. Children

PocketSavyr is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. International Processing

Your data is ordinarily stored on your device. If you choose cloud backup, export, share a report, contact support, or make a purchase, the selected provider or store may process information in countries other than your own under its own policies and safeguards.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PocketSavyr or applicable requirements change. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date.

If a change materially affects how we handle data, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
